GroupOfPeopleThe Crown Hill Urban Village Committee for Smart Growth is hosting a Meet & Greet next week, on Tuesday, May 31 at the Greenwood Library from 6:30 to 7:45 pm.

Why so soon after Memorial Day? Because we can’t waste another minute getting more neighbors involved in smart growth planning.

Join us to meet other neighbors impacted by the City’s rezoning and density plans for our community, the Crown Hill Urban Village. Learn about what we are doing to make growth in our community a Win/Win for everyone – existing residents and new neighbors, and how you can help.

At the Meet & Greet, we’ll be discussing our community’s response to the City’s proposed urban village density goals and expansion into Whittier Heights, Loyal Heights, Olympic Manor, Greenwood and deeper into Crown Hill (see map here The City is already well down the road in developing comprehensive growth plans like HALA and the 2035 Seattle Plan for urban villages throughout Seattle. And your neighbors who are organizing to address these proposed changes can’t do our work without your help.

Let’s be clear, no representatives from the City will be attending. This is a debrief on the efforts of your neighbors in the impacted communities of Crown Hill, Whittier Heights, Greenwood, Loyal Heights and Olympic Manor; in collaboration with the Crown Hill Business Association. So this isn’t an opportunity to share frustration about what you think of the proposed changes. Instead, this is a meeting to learn how the volunteer neighborhood committee representing the five neighborhoods impacted is approaching the challenge of increased density

Please come and meet us at the Greenwood Library on Tuesday night. Learn more about what we see as the key issues, how we’ve been tackling the issue of growth over the last six months, and how you might get involved in making the Crown Hill Urban Village www.crownhillurbanvillage a better neighborhood for all.
