Join your neighbors at Hales Ales Brewery. Wear green. Talk to city leaders about growth.

As a resident living in Crown Hill Urban Village, you have a chance to attend a City-Sponsored Open House on April 27th at Hales Ales Brewery, 4301 Leary Way NW. The City Open House hours are 6 to 8 p.m.

The city is seeking feedback and answering questions on HALA. HALA rezones target communities like ours for increased density as part of a larger plan to provide additional affordable housing in Seattle.

The Open House is not like a traditional community meeting. Instead of presentations, there will be stations set up around the room. Attendees will have opportunities to comment and ask city leaders questions about the zoning changes the city has suggested for Crown Hill Urban Village, as well as other nearby Urban Villages being rezoned for growth.

Crown Hill Urban Village Committee for Smart Growth needs you there.

Our Committee has reserved a drop-in table for CHUV neighbors at Hale’s Ale Brew Pub from 5:30 – 7 pm. Please drop by on your way in to the open house and meet your neighbors. We will have some key points you may want to consider sharing at the Open House and can answer neighbor questions. The suggested language in our key points and 2017 Recommendations for Smart Growth is a result of our extensive outreach to community members like you.

If you don’t have green to wear, don’t worry. We will also have Crown Hill Urban Village stickers available at the drop-in table so you can represent our neighborhood visibly.

City of Seattle staff will have maps and other information regarding proposed zoning changes to create more affordable housing in Crown Hill Urban Village.

Projects and City departments represented at the Open House are: Age Friendly Seattle (HSD), Design Review (SDCI), Ship Canal Water Quality (SPU), Open Space Plan (OPCD), Democracy Vouchers (EE), Neighborhoods Streets and Greenways Projects (SDOT); Mandatory Housing Affordability (OPCD/OH).

Please drop by the Crown Hill Urban Village Committee for Smart Growth table in the Brewery before attending the Open House, and spread the word to your neighbors.
