Crown Hill Urban Village (CHUV) neighbors have an opportunity to advocate for the type of growth we want for our community at a City Sponsored Open House on April 27th from at the Palladium at Hales Ales from 6pm to 8pm 4301 Leary Way NW, Seattle, WA 98107.

Please stop by to meet your neighbors and share collective wisdom about the planned zoning changes and infrastructure before heading into the City’s Open House. 

Our Committee has reserved a drop-in table for CHUV neighbors in the Gallery at Hale’s Ale pub from 5-7 pm on the 27th.    We will have stickers for Crown Hill Urban Village so our neighborhood is visible.  We will also provide some handouts with suggested key points for smart growth in CHUV as we are re-zoned for growth.

This City Open House is not formatted like a traditional community meeting.  Instead of presentations, there will be stations set up around the room with opportunities to comment and ask questions about the proposed MHA zoning changes that will impact Crown Hill Urban Village, as well as other nearby Urban Villages being rezoned for growth.  To be effective as a group, we would like to help our neighbors be visible and have relevant information for each department represented at the event.  Neighbors can ask questions and comment  on the proposed upzones for CHUV, as well as talk to departments about the critical infrastructure needs such as sidewalks for safe pedestrian access that are needed for smart growth in our neighborhood.

City of Seattle staff will have maps and other information regarding proposed zoning changes to create more affordable housing. Proposed MHA zoning changes that we will focus on are: Bitter Lake, Aurora/Licton Springs, Ballard, Crown Hill, NE 130th, Greenwood/Phinney.  Projects and City departments planning on attending are: Age Friendly Seattle (HSD), Design Review (SDCI), Ship Canal Water Quality (SPU), Open Space Plan (OPCD), Democracy Vouchers (EE), Neighborhoods Streets and Greenways Projects (SDOT); Mandatory Housing Affordability (OPCD/OH).

We hope you can drop by the CHUV neighbor table at the pub between 5 and 7 pm on April 27th before heading into the City open house to comment on the proposed zoning changes in our neighborhood.
